The throat is constructed of four pieces of metal and positioned straight down. The blade and the throat are both constructed of 400 brinell abrasion resistant steel. The blade seating surface and inlet throat seat are both machined for optimum sealing. Blade to be 5/8" star 360, which can be ground to a minimum 1/2" to attain flat seat.
Pebco uses pressure loaded shaft seals inboard of the bearing. This design will allow use in both pressure and vacuum applications. The bearings are still protected from the ingression of contaminants since they are located outboard of the shaft seals. The Flapper Valve blade is removable for maintenance and replacement.
